Spacehuhn Store is closing
2 min read
We will be closing our online store at the end of the year (2021). Nonetheless, we have big plans for 2022!
Ok, big headline, but what are we even talking about? Let's go through it one by one.
Spacehuhn Store History
In August 2020, we launched an online store at spacehuhn.store to sell our first product. A limited-edition 'Long Range Deauther'. We only made 30 pieces, and each one was given a number. So if you happen to own one, congratulations! You own a significant piece of our company's history. 🥳
We quickly saw demand rising and added more products to our store. Eventually, we launched the Deauther Andromeda.
COVID, Part Shortage & Shipping disruptions
Running an online store comes with a lot of extra work and costs. Of course, it didn't help that we were just starting as a company when COVID-19 hit.
Buying parts to make new hardware right now is not just expensive but often impossible. We see lead times of over a year for essential parts.
But it's not just the semiconductor shortage. We are going through a massive worldwide supply chain disruption that affects everything. Inflation is rapid, and to this day, we still experience huge issues shipping internationally.
- Oh, and did I mention Brexit? Yeah... I think you get the point.
Our Plan for 2022
We have huge projects in the pipeline, and we can't wait to share them with you! But we also feel like they need our full attention so that we can deliver something of quality and value to You!
To achieve this, we will be closing our online store on December 31, 2021.
This doesn't mean we will never sell anything anymore. We will continue selling Stickers and maybe other merch through our Ko-fi page. And as we release new products, we will start selling them on our website again.
If you still want a Deauther Andromeda, Hackheld, Spacehuhn Badge, or Beanie - visit Spacehuhn.store now to get 10% off at checkout.
Don't wait too long! Said products might not return for a while, or ever! We want to clear our inventory and make room for our new projects.
